Changes for 2026
● All members over the age of 18 have the right to vote at monthly meetings.
● The first weekend in May will be the earliest a show can be held.
● DBRC will provide a pattern book to judges for selection of all patterns.
● A coin flip was added to the tie breaker
● The president shall be the contact for show managers of each hosting organization.
● NEOHA show stewards have authority over how special classes are to be run. Judges
must abide by this.
● Horse hardship cases for year end point tabulation can be brought to the directors for
a decision.
● Clarifications were made to the number of splits required for more than 16 entries.
● Per membership’s request: training classes were condensed.
● The show schedule was re-arranged, with the ranch classes to be held first.
● Open Walk-Trot will now be split into HUS, EQ, HMS, and Pleasure instead of being a
combined class.
● Open walk-trot trail and trail-in-hand were added.
● Leadliners can show any nominated horse, it does not need to be the same mount all
season.
● There shall be no cross entry between advanced and regular leadline.
● Walk-Trot exhibitors are not permitted to enter Youth or Adult showmanship.
● Horses in ranch conformation and regular halter classes may not cross enter.
● AQHA registered horses may not show in All Breed Halter.
● Ranch preferences updated to today’s standards- minimal silver and clipping not
discouraged.
● Work hours were added to the royalty competition.
● A dress code expectation was added for royalty representatives.
